Each year on or about June 11th, to coincide with Kamehameha Day in Hawaiʻi, the Hawaiʻi State Society of Washington, D.C., officiates at the King Kamehameha I Lei Draping Ceremony in the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center. The Ceremony has been a celebration of culture, traditions, protocol and aloha since the unveiling of the Kamehameha I and Saint Damien statues 1969.
