Lei-Making Demonstration for Kamehameha Day

In celebration of Kamehameha Day each June, the Society prepare lei using many local mid-Atlantic plant materials. The lei are presented and draped on the statues of King Kamehameha I and Saint Damien in a private ceremony in Emancipation Hall of the U.S. Capitol where visitors to the Capitol can enjoy them following the ceremony.  Watch as the Hawai`i State Society and other members of the local community make the lei for this year’s Kamehameha Day observance.
